Website Design

Done correctly, a website can be a remarkable thing. It can sell your product or service while you're at home sleeping. Successful online marketing involves a multitude of little things all working together simultaneously and websites are a big part of that. Knowing how to design for usability, aesthetic appeal, sales conversions, SEO and integration with social media are a lot of balls to keep in the air. We make it look easy.

Your website should be your main sales portal. All marketing leads should drive potential customers to it. Why? Because it contains pages and pages of why you are better than the other guy. It offers your main sell and proof points to support the sell. It never stumbles or says the wrong thing by accident. And it's not pushy like a salesman - your customers can take it or leave it on their terms without you even knowing they were there.

Our Process

1. Establish Goals

Our first step with any client is to determine your marketing goals. What is it you hope your website will achieve? Some clients have no idea so we step in with our thoughts on performance benchmarks. Since the website is your primary sales tool, it needs to be in perfect alignment with your brand and unique selling points. If those items have not been identified, we stop the process to develop them.

2. Information Architecture

The website development process begins with the creation of an information architecture (I/A) and a wireframe. The I/A is a content blueprint for how your visitors will access the content on your site. We'll work with you to identify the services and other information that are unique to your business. This is the part in the process where we make sure that all the vital information is accounted for and organized in a logical fashion.

3. Wirefame

Next, we create a wireframe. The wireframe blocks out how content and images will be laid out on a webpage. Created from the I/A, the wireframe is used to refine the design, improve the digestibility of your content and to remove any roadblocks that may prevent your visitors from moving deeper into the website or contacting you.

4. Design Mock Up

Once the wireframe is approved, we create a homepage design mock-up. The mock-up will be provided in PDF format, with a link to an online version. Based on your feedback, we take the concept through two-to-three rounds revisions until the design is finalized. If your budget permits, we can present up to 3 different design concepts for you to choose from.

Based on the approved homepage design, we'll create a mock-up of an inside page concept and will follow a similar revision process until the inside page design is approved.

5. Site Development

Once the design is approved, we'll start the technical development of your website in accordance with accepted best-practices for coding, search engine optimization and usability.

Each site is built to be search engine optimized and to include analytics code to track results.

6. Content Creation

During that time we'll also work with you to create your website content. We will emphasize the unique offerings and the approach you take with your customers. We'll identify your target audiences and speak to them using words that resonate. We'll tell their story and yours and we'll integrate calls-to-action that lead them to move the relationship forward. We will also keep SEO best practices top of mind and integrate them seamlessly into your website content. We don't write for search engines, we write for customers but we speak to them using your keywords so they can find you easily and effectively online.

Usability is a huge component of good website design. We'll organize the information on each page and integrate video and other rich media resources so that visitors can find what they are looking for effortlessly. We will ensure that the content is complete, easy to penetrate and provides enough information to persuade a potential customer to contact you.

7. Testing

Once the technical development and content creation are complete, we'll integrate the two and publish your website to our beta environment. This will allow you to preview your website as it will appear to your visitors. We'll test the website and make any last-minute copy corrections. Finally we'll publish your website to your domain and perform a final round of testing.

8. Launch & Marketing

We make your site live and move immediately into our site promotion plan to drive traffic to it. We create reports at the end of every month to show you how your site is performing.

Content Management

A content management system, or CMS, is a website system that is preprogrammed in php or asp to offer a user interface to modify a website's content without having to access the raw html. In other words, you can edit your own website whenever you want. Examples of content management systems include WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and Kentico.

We work with you to determine if a CMS makes sense for you and which CMS is the best fit for your organization.
